Our answer is simple: nothing.
Hilandero Blades isn’t about claiming to make a “better” spinnerbait. We’re about making a different kind of spinnerbait—one designed specifically with fishing heavier cover in mind.
So, what makes our spinnerbaits different? We’re glad you asked.
Built to Deflect
At first glance, our spinnerbait heads look similar to the traditional teardrop-shaped heads used by national brands. The difference is in the details. We designed our heads with a pronounced “belly” that helps the bait deflect off heavier cover rather than getting hung up.
We also use heavier-gauge wire. The added strength helps the spinnerbait push through and deflect off cover while reducing the need to constantly re-tune your bait after fishing it hard.
Blades with a Different Thump
Our blades feature a special cupping design that allows them to spin on a wider arc while providing slightly more surface area. That additional surface area creates more flash in the water, while the blade design allows it to turn at a slower speed.
The result is a different vibration and “thump” that gives fish something a little different to react to. The slower blade rotation also helps keep the spinnerbait in the strike zone longer.
Hand-Tied for Performance
We finish our spinnerbaits with 24-gauge wire and hand-tied skirts. Hand-tying helps prevent the skirt from slipping during repeated use while also allowing the skirt to flare naturally.
That extra flare gives the bait a slightly fuller profile and adds movement in the water that fish can key in on.
